Historic Townhouse

Brooklyn, NY

This five story townhouse was being used as a lower triplex with the top two floors income producing apartments. The large house easily accommodated two new staircases so that a central triplex could be self-contained sandwiched between two rental apartments, one above and one below.

Missing Victorian ceiling details were reconstituted. An original fretwork panel languishing in the cellar was combined with some vintage materials the client had collected to create a decorative screen separating the dining room from the living room.
