This studio apartment was re-imagined to accommodate a growing family with open concept living at the front of the apt and private rooms at the rear.

The result is a child’s loft with both bedroom and playroom reachable by a ship’s ladder/staircase and shoji screen-like walls to allow both privacy and light while subtly adhering to NYC railing safety codes. The master bed area while generally open to the large living loft can be made private with retractable shoji walls. And there are plenty of closets and a private office space to boot!
